Love the Random..

So its 6:45pm and raining out.. I am just hanging out at home, just got of the phone will Leah about stuff on Saturday (more about that later) and all of a sudden there is a knock at my door..
Through me for a loop, cause everyone I knew was at home getting ready for meeting.. turns out its Darwin.. who I hadn't really talked to in a couple of weeks..
He just came from school and didn't want to drive all the way home and back so he figured he come by and see me.. we had a good chat, what we been up to, well more of him asking where I had been which consisted of him telling me that I work to much!! Had a good chat of everything.. and caught up.. then some reason we started talking about the kids at home in Sask.. which is a subject i dont normally like to talk about cause of things that have happened.. but honestly it was nice, just told him things, how its different here that we are all one family and that no one is left out and that we all look out for each other.. then he said "really you moved here to get a guy" oh Dar got to love you when you come out with that.. But it was to shoot the breeze for 45 min..

Back to my phone call with Leah, called to tell me she wasnt coming tonight so I wouldnt have to look after Lily, but if the offer still stood to help her with the kids on Saturday. Apparently Troy is going to be down in Chile now till next Wed instead of Friday. She said she could handle it on her own, but an extra set of hands would be nice.. Of course I said yes and I could get a few more to come and help!! any excuse for us "big" kids to get dressed up and go out.. so hopefully have pictures for you all soon!!

Turkey Weekend!!

The greatest part about living on your own for Holidays?? Someone takes pity on you and cooks and invites ya over..

Yesterday a bunch of us kids living on our own got invited over to Bruce and Karen Kofodes for supper. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, yam/squash... and homemake pumpkin pie.. the best of all the entertainment. The talks around the table, Erica and I apparently missing out as we were the only two NON coffee drinkers.. It's like being at home.. well it was at home with My Vancouver Family..

Hope ya all had a good Turkey Weekend..

I am currently watching a sunk run around my front yard as I type this.. I just seen him in the yard as I ran into my house!!!

Through thick and thin

Saturday I was at a Funeral.. Now I know this is a weird thing to write about but I am going to anyway and maybe you will see where I am going with this..

So Saturday I was the funeral for Bruce McEachern. I had only met "Pa" once last year when I went out to Greg's to hang out with him and Mel. Was one of the biggest funerals I had ever been too. 800+ people, the whole community of Maple Ridge and past/present Employees of Bruce's market, friends that knew the family and the mayor of Maple Ridge was out too. Needless to say very big. I remember when I was small my parents having to drag me to funerals, so going to this one when not really knowing Bruce was different.

It was a very nice service and some of the gang was there and we all met up together afterwards. But what was the most touching part as I was walking in to the funeral Greg was coming out. As he seen me walking up the the doors he gave me the usual "Lockhart" greeting that I get. Then we stood and talked for about a min, all that he could get out was "Thanks for coming" then it hit me I never had even thought twice about going, it was Greg's grandpa sure I didnt know him but he was important to Greg and Greg is a good friend, made sence to me.

Thats when I really understood if anything happens to the "family" out here, we are all there to help each other through it. We all spend so much time together that if one thing happens to someone it affects us all. If it's a birthday, job promotion, holiday or something like this we are all there for each other. Thats how I know now that I am truly blessed with AMAZING friends.

Needless to say that Sunday I seen Greg and he was fine.. and gave him his b-day present since his birthday was the day before.. Walked away with a smile on his face since he knew what it was.. Thats what friendships are all about.. being there for anything..

Happy Belated Birthday Murray!

"You still Alive?"

The best text of the week..
What happens when you don't talk to
anyone since Sunday Night Coffee.
Guess means I should talk a little more,
and maybe get out of my hermit mode I'm in..

Love ya Hutch!!
I'm breathing so that counts as alive I think..

Palace

So its amazing what you can find when you need something. Us girls were going over to the island for Convention, and we were trying to find a tent of some sort to sleep in when we got over there. Well I remembered that Mum and Dad had a tent from when they use to tent it @ Smeaton, so Dad came out to see me and I asked him if he could bring it.. So the Wonderful dad he is brought it for us.. Then I remember how big it was.. thank goodness though.. 12 man tent for 5 girls and stuff is just the right size. It got called the Palace as we were at the top of the hill in the biggest tent at Duncan.. but it was worth it.. now the boys are going to use it.. I'm sure it will be more than big enough for them..

The sleeping Quarters.. we had our bags in a seperate place
Good thing.. wouldn't have been enough room otherwise
