So its turkey weekend, I got mine last night. The best thing about living on your own is someone always takes you in for the holidays! This year I ended up in Maple Ridge at the Pollock's house, where I have been a couple of times. Now they say Thanksgiving is like xmas spend it will Family, family holiday blah blah blah.. I say Family is what you make it and these holidays are just ment to be shared with people who you care about and like spending time with. So I spent it with my BC family, cause well its a little hard to get home for thanksgiving plus ya know can't spend every holiday with my parents, (even though I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!) and I am now in a lot of trouble for that comment! But really its about spending it with people that make you happy. So that's my stig for today. HAPPY TURKEY WEEKEND if you havent had yours yet!

Duncan

Running for the Ferry

Young kids Duncan 2010

Following pictures are our village of Tents!
The big red one of course be the girls "condo"

Our famous friend on the ferry!
So group of us headed off to Duncan for convention.. and as you can see by the picture there ended up being quite a few of us!! Then we all headed back to the mainland for GV 2.. Thanks to Dustin for taking the picture, although he did say we had to write in order to have it taken.. Thanks to Josh who doesn't really know I borrowed these pictures of the group, girls and Ted and Rach!
The ferry was fun, dear Ted & Rach got there before Ayla and I did and yet we got loaded before they did!! Ahh the fun of hangin out at the Ferry, talking with workers as they wait to board and walking around hanging out at the ocean..
All in all was a very good convention.. even if it did rain, and we got drenched in the tent, that's half the fun of tenting right? ;)

Beautiful to Land of living skys back to Beautiful

This one is for you Jill.. since you nicely told me to update.. and sorry to everyone else..

So if anyone hasn't figured out the title.. it comes from the license plates. I'm all sure you know the Land of Living Skys is Sask. But BC is Beautiful British Columbia.. that which it is.. okay so here is the short version of what happened since last update..

-Summer FINALLY arrived here in BC.. we broke 12 records and it was Saskatchewan HOT!! 38+ in some places, very unBC like

-When back to Saskatchewan for Convention as a surprise to everyone there minus my parents.. I do believe my parents are still going to be paying for not telling people that I was coming home.. And Dear Willa I am still upset I didn't get to be a watercarrier like you said I could be!!!

~Saturday afternoon BBQ with the kids out in the Valley and watching the boys dirtbike!!
~Coffee & Supper with Friends.. playing catch up and hanging out relaxing..
~Looking forward to long weekend-beach volleyball, tubing and fun with the gang @ the beach in Ft. Langley (which is all of 10 min from Glenn Valley for those of you who know where that is)
~Long weekend means I get all of next week off as I hit the Island for Duncan..
~Realizing that a 1/2 hr drive in BC to see friends is VERY DIFFERENT from a 1/2 hr drive in Sask.
~Seeing Mt Baker in Washington still having snow on it making it look amazing..
~Tuesday Night date night with the Craziest girl I know, who's BF apparently says were are an old married couple.. which I take as a good thing!!

So that's all so far.. It's 11:20pm right now.. in 40 min BC time I will have officially been 'home' in Vancouver for 4 yrs.. Holy smokers how time flies!! Only feels like last year I left with my little car packed to the max and drove the 22 hr drive to my new home! But as they say.. Home is where your heart is.. and Vancouver is where mine is!

More laters!

Friday night babysitting fun.

So about once a month I babysit for Troy and Leah, most times I forget my camera but this time I had it in my purse.. It was super nice weather and the sun was shinning, so I took the kids to the park for an hour and half.. it was great fun but I was knackered when I got home from chasing the kids around the park. Apparently I was a sea monster I was only allowed to climb up the slides to get the kids.. it was so much fun to run around the park, even better since I had the kids as my excuse to use the swings and slides.. and well the mailbox was too good to pass up on the way home!

Catch up..

It's hard to believe this happened over 2 months ago.. it was amazing time in the city, it was 2 weeks of non stop fun! Rumor has it that they may be coming back in 2014 b/c Russia is having problems with contracts and building permits and apparently there is a clause in the hosting city, that if they can't meet the regulations in time then it automatically defaults back to the previous city.. So here is to having a our fingers crossed that they come back to us, sorry RUSSIA!!

So its been a crazy 2 months, I have been promoted to a management position and now work in the North Vancouver, so instead of 2 min drive I now have to drive over the bridge for 15 min. So its a little bit of a drive but not to bad.. it's kind of nice working in a new city, well not that new as some of the kids live over there and there quite a bit, different working over there.. I now officially hate rush hour traffic! Good old Saskatoon 45 min of rush hour is looking good compared to our 3 hour traffic and all the bridge construction as well.

The 1st week of March went to the amazing island of Hawaii.. Yes I was on the island of Hawaii, as in the big island.. Kona is super beautiful even with all its lava rock. Swimming with the turtle every day and watching the whales it was amazing.. the fresh seafood as well and I do believe my family has a new favorite restaurant.. Bubba Gumps shrimp.. or as my dad thinks its call Bubble Gum Shrimp.. :)

Now for those of you who don't know, its hockey playoff season and well for those @ home who follow hockey, living in a city that has one of the teams in the playoffs it gets a little crazy around here, its almost like the feeling of the olympics are back.. but with hockey playoffs in the city comes the boys summer league on the North Shore.. now its nothing like the NHL but its fun to go out there and watch them.. they do their best, and last year they were the winners of their Division.. so hopefully this year again.. hard to believe it was only a year ago that I really got into it.. but that's what happens when you hang out with people from Ontario who are really in to it all..
that is all for now... Hopefully I can get out in the next couple of weeks and take some amazing pictures of all the nice weather around here. 1st I have to find what I did with my camera, and I am looking at some new ones but this one works for now.. I promise to try and be better at updating!! Till next time!
